Publication Fees
What NexOneMed charges, when it is charged, what it covers, and how to apply for a waiver. Ability to pay plays no part in any editorial decision.
NexOneMed is open access: there is no subscription and readers pay nothing. Publication is funded by an article processing charge (APC), paid only if an article is accepted.
The charge plays no part in the decision. Editors are not told whether an author can pay, and no waiver request reaches the editor handling the manuscript. Acceptance is decided on the work alone.
The charge
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Article processing charge, per accepted article | [APC AMOUNT] |
| Submission fee | None |
| Charge for colour figures, supplementary files or extra pages | None |
| Charge for rejected or withdrawn manuscripts | None |
The APC is invoiced after acceptance and before publication. [TAX TREATMENT — whether local tax applies]. Payment methods: [METHODS].
What it covers
- Editorial handling and the administration of peer review
- Copy-editing and typesetting
- DOI registration and metadata deposit
- Hosting, long-term preservation and open access in perpetuity
Waivers and discounts
No author should be kept out of the literature by cost. We offer:
- Full waivers for corresponding authors based in countries classified by the World Bank as low income.
- Partial waivers for corresponding authors in lower-middle income countries.
- Discretionary waivers for any author without access to funding, whatever their location, including students and unfunded researchers.
Apply at submission, through the editorial manager, with a short statement of why funding is not available. Waiver decisions are made by the editorial office, not by editors, and are communicated separately from the editorial decision. Do not raise a waiver request with the handling editor.
Withdrawal
You may withdraw a manuscript at any time before acceptance at no cost. Withdrawing after acceptance, once the article has been copy-edited and typeset, [DECIDE: whether a withdrawal charge applies, and how much].
Copyright
Authors keep copyright in their work. Articles are published under [LICENCE — e.g. CC BY 4.0], so anyone may share and adapt the article provided the authors are credited. You do not transfer your rights to the journal.
Questions about billing
Invoices, institutional billing and purchase orders are handled by the editorial office — see contact. Please quote your manuscript ID.
